Housing Sales to Foreigners Increased in June!
The housing market in Turkey showed strong momentum in June 2025, with real estate sales statistics in Turkey indicating a significant rise in overall property transactions. According to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), total housing sales jumped by 35.8% year-over-year, reaching 107,723 units.
Among these, housing sales to foreigners in June saw a noticeable increase of 8.7% compared to the same month last year, totaling 1,565 units and accounting for 1.5% of all transactions. This uptick signals a renewed international demand for Turkish homes, supported by competitive pricing and lifestyle appeal.
Antalya and İstanbul Lead Foreign Property Sales
As has been the trend in recent years, top cities for foreign real estate in Turkey were again Antalya and İstanbul. With 603 properties for sale in Antalya, Turkey, sold to foreign buyers in June, the Mediterranean hotspot maintained its top position. İstanbul followed closely with 521 units sold, reflecting continued interest in properties for sale in İstanbul from global investors. Mersin ranked third with 128 units, a sign that emerging coastal markets are also gaining traction.
June’s Leading Foreign Buyers
Foreign property buyers in Turkey in 2025 were led by Russian citizens, who purchased 326 units in June. They were followed by Ukrainian buyers with 111 units, and Iranians who acquired 109 properties. This ongoing interest underscores the resilience of the Turkey real estate foreign investment market, even amid shifting global economic conditions.
Price Trends and Market Forecast
While total unit sales surged, Turkey house prices in June continued their gradual decline in inflation-adjusted terms. Experts view this as a market correction after previous rapid growth phases. Nevertheless, the current Turkey housing market trend remains favorable for both local and international investors, with affordability attracting more buyers.
Analysts suggest that the Turkey property market forecast for 2025 remains positive, particularly in high-demand regions such as Istanbul and Antalya. Attractive lifestyle offerings, favorable exchange rates, and growing infrastructure continue to position Turkey as a magnet for overseas property seekers.
Why Foreigners Keep Choosing Turkey
The steady rise in foreign housing sales in Turkey reflects more than just competitive pricing; it also underscores the country's growing appeal. It also highlights the country’s rich lifestyle offerings, diverse real estate portfolio, and growing reputation as a prime location for both living and investment.
With Istanbul, Antalya, and Mersin leading June’s sales figures, it’s clear that the coastal allure plays a significant role. These cities offer a compelling mix of urban infrastructure, scenic beauty, and cultural depth, making them ideal for foreign property buyers in Turkey 2025.
Many buyers are seeking flexible properties that can serve as both year-round residences and summer homes, blending lifestyle with practicality. Whether for personal use or rental income, the appeal is strong across different buyer profiles.
