Ryanair Launches Direct Flights to Turkey from the UK
Ryanair is set to take off with new direct routes to Turkey, offering UK travelers a convenient connection to Bodrum and Dalaman this winter. The affordable airline has announced that the direct flights from London Stansted to Bodrum will begin on December 1, 2024, and to Dalaman on December 2. This development is expected to promote closer ties in the travel and tourism sectors between the two countries.
Ryanair began its Turkish journey in 2018 with flights from Bratislava and Dublin. The upcoming launch marks the airline’s first expansion of routes to Turkey in six years. This increase is part of a broader strategy to improve its winter flight schedule. These plans will satisfy the growing demand for travel to Turkey during the off-peak season.
The airline stated that the direct flights from Stansted to Bodrum will depart at 6:45 AM, arriving in Turkey at 12:35 PM local time. The return flights will depart at 1:35 PM and arrive in London at 2:40 PM. For the flights from Stansted to Dalaman, they will depart at 6:00 AM, arriving in Turkey at 12:50 PM local time. The return flights will depart at 2:45 PM, arriving in London at 3:45 PM.
The departures will operate twice-weekly, offering budget-friendly options for travelers, with one-way tickets starting from £29.99. These direct flights to Turkey from the UK will likely lead to a rise in overall tourist numbers, especially in the winter.
Known as the "St. Tropez of Turkey,” Bodrum is a glamorous destination attracting visitors with its picturesque beaches, designer shops, and clean coastline. Milas-Bodrum Airport (BJV) currently has direct flights from 12 countries, connecting the region to approximately 32 cities. It is about 116 km from the city center of Muğla, and the driving distance between Milas-Bodrum Airport and Dalaman Airport is approximately 171 km.
Dalaman, another beautiful region of Muğla, serves as a gateway to the popular tourist destinations along the Turquoise Coast. Dalaman Airport (DLM) has direct flights to 11 countries. Currently, there are 42 airports around the world that connect directly to Dalaman. The airport is roughly 80 km from the city center of Muğla.
These two regions’ mild winter is the perfect opportunity to get away from the harsh weather of the UK. Thanks to Ryanair’s new routes to Turkey, you can now enjoy the winter holiday season with ease and a refreshing breeze.
