Spanish Passport Ranks 3rd Globally for Travel Freedom

Spain’s passport ranks third globally in the 2025 Guide Passport Ranking Index. The Spanish passport offers travel freedom with visa-free access to 146 countries, reaffirming its standing as one of the most powerful passports.

Spain achieved a mobility score of 189 in the 2025 worldwide passport rankings. Beyond visa-free travel, passport holders can access 29 countries with a visa-on-arrival and 14 countries through electronic travel authorization (eTA). There are only 40 destinations requiring an advance visa, such as India and Russia.

World passport rankings and the mobility score are based on the total number of destinations accessible without advance visa requirements. The Spanish passport ranking this high reinforces the country’s position as an attractive destination for those seeking global mobility.
