Property for Sale in Pinoso, Alicante, a Town of Wine, Marble and Salt
Pinoso is a town in the west of the province of Alicante, in Spain, in the Medio Vinalopó comarca. Its municipal area covers 126.9 square kilometres. It has governed itself since 1826, when it became independent of Monóvar. Wine, marble and salt have shaped the town, and you still see them in the landscape around it.
Pinoso Real Estate and the Landscape Around the Town
Three things set Pinoso apart. The first is the Cabezo de la Sal, Pinoso's salt dome, whose brine travels by pipeline all the way to the salt pans of Torrevieja. The second is marble, quarried on Monte Coto. The Aula de la Naturaleza, a nature classroom, shows the gentler side of the landscape.
The third is wine. Monastrell is the dominant grape here. Pinoso is also closely tied to Fondillón, a wine made from Monastrell. For a buyer, that means vineyards in the view and local wine on the table.
Property in Pinoso Town and in the Pedanías
You can choose between the town itself and the pedanías, the outlying hamlets of the municipality. In town, life gathers around Plaza de España, where the town hall stands, and the Torre del Reloj, the clock tower built in the early twentieth century. The Casa del Mármol y del Vino, a centre devoted to the town's two trades, is in town too.
Outside the centre, the municipality includes pedanías such as El Rodriguillo, Encebras, Úbeda, Culebrón and Paredón. If you want land around the house and open country at the door, a pedanía is worth a look. If you want shops and schools within walking distance, the town is the better fit. For a house with its own plot, the villas for sale in Pinoso are the place to start.
Choosing the Right Home in Pinoso for How You Will Live
What decides it is how you plan to use the home. A permanent move usually puts schools, shops and the doctor first, which favours the town. A holiday home or a retirement plan often puts space, views and a garden first, which favours the pedanías. Your consultant will show you both kinds of setting on the same tour, so the difference is clear before you decide.
Getting here is simple too. Alicante-Elche Airport is about 60 km from Pinoso, about 50 minutes by car. Región de Murcia International Airport is about 85 km away, just over an hour by car. Visiting friends and family can choose the flight that suits them.
The town has schools for every age, from the infant and primary schools of Santa Catalina and San Antón to the José Marhuenda Prats secondary school. A family can settle here without a long school run, and children grow up with friends from the same streets.
