Houses for Sale in Estepona Centro, Estepona, Málaga Among Whitewashed Streets and Villas by the Sea
In Málaga province, Spain, Estepona Centro is the old heart of Estepona on the Costa del Sol: narrow whitewashed streets, cobbles and balconies full of geraniums, a short walk from a long town beach. A house here, rather than a flat, means owning a whole building in a town people come to see, or a villa close enough to stroll into it.
We list far fewer houses than apartments in Estepona Centro, so it helps to know the types before one appears. Everything else on the market in the old town is listed under our real estate in Estepona Centro.
A House in Estepona Centro, in a Town That Kept Its Character
Restoration, not replacement, shaped the old quarter. Plaza de las Flores, with cafes around its fountain, is still where the town gathers. The clock tower, the Torre del Reloj, still rises where its church stood before the 1755 earthquake brought it down, a stretch of the old castle walls of San Luis survives, and the Orchidarium at the top of the quarter keeps a large collection of orchids under glass.
On the seafront, Playa de la Rada stretches for over two kilometres along the centre with a promenade behind it, and the marina lies between La Rada and El Cristo, a cove known for calm water. From a house in Estepona Centro, all of it is reachable without a car.
Estepona Centro Villas and Townhouses by Setting
The old quarter holds the traditional houses: whitewashed, lining the narrow streets around Calle Terraza and Calle Real and around the squares. Calle Málaga and Calle Caridad, just east of Calle Terraza, are the pedestrian streets where the old town eats out, and a house near them trades quiet evenings for street life. A house here gives you character and the address, and with it an older building and the questions it brings.
By the beach are the villas. Some of the houses we list in Estepona Centro stand in seafront complexes, sharing wellness facilities among a small number of homes.
Further back from the sea, a few kilometres inland, family houses in newer complexes each have a terrace and share a communal pool set in gardens, a quieter base that is still a short drive from the old town.
Estepona Centro Houses in Three Groups
The houses divide into three groups. Traditional old-quarter houses are the most distinctive: an entire building on the street, in the historic core that gives Estepona Centro its name. Beachfront villas sit at the other end, large homes in complexes by the sea with their own wellness facilities. Family houses in newer developments fill the middle, roomier than an apartment, with a pool shared with the neighbours.
If one floor is enough for you, the flats for sale in Estepona Centro, in the old town and its new complexes, offer a much wider choice.
Buying a House in Estepona Centro with TEKCE Real Estate
A house in an old town raises different questions from a new-build flat: the state of the structure, the changes you are permitted to make, the noise of the street at night. Listing photos show none of them. TEKCE Real Estate assists buyers moving to Spain from abroad, and our team does the part that is hard from a distance: we walk through the house with you, explain the steps of a Spanish purchase, and stay alongside you through the legal work and after you receive the keys.
Tell us which kind of house you want in Estepona Centro, and we will tell you where to look and what to watch for.
